The power of a jersey

One of the greatest ministry tools we have...

Fromt
back ...as a Christian Bike Club is our cycling jersey. As we start up our club it is important that we have as many people wearing the jersey as possible -- as quickly as possible -- since it serves two very important purposes for us:

   1. OTHERS. It is an awesome conversation starter.  People notice bike jerseys and the International Christian Cycling Club (IC3) jersey is specifically designed with bright colors, words and symbols to get attention.  This allows us to be noticed and set apart from all other bikers.  It is our hope that others will ask us about our jerseys, our club, our faith and our God.
   2. SELF. As IC3 members we are dedicating our hobby, sport and/or leisure to His will so he can use it for His work. Every time we don the jersey it serves as a reminder of that fact.  The more of one's life that is given over to the Lord, the closer the relationship to the Lord.

Since the jersey is such a powerful ministry tool we are trying to make it as accessible and obtainable as possible. The problem is that the jersey is a custom made piece of clothing.  As such, it is not cheap to produce, requires minimum quantities to start an order and then eight to ten weeks to produce and deliver once it is ordered.

But, we have devised a plan to get the jerseys as quickly as possible and reduce the cost of the jerseys for those who would not otherwise be able to afford them.

To reduce the cost, we would like to order in bulk, then have each Twin Cities Spoke member who officially joins the IC3 (Click here for IC3 Membership forms ) receive and wear a jersey.  We would let them know that it cost $50 to make, but it is theirs for whatever price they wish to pay -- even nothing!  It is more important to us that they wear the jersey than to pay. Of course, it is our hope that most would be able to cover the $50, but understand that will not be possible for everyone.  Others who are more blessed financially might be willing to contribute the $50 -- or $75 -- or $100.  All moneys collected would be used to reinvest in more jerseys thus making the program virtually self perpetuating and we would be able to have a stock of jerseys on hand most of the time.

What we need to execute the plan is funding to cover the original purchase of jerseys.  We invite you to be a part of our ministry by helping us raise that money.  If you are interested in helping us in any way, please pray about it, and then contact Tim Turnquist and Kristofer Johnson at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
